[IC RP thread for Reno and Caesar]

In the shadows
Who: Reno and Caesar
What: Taking a break from studying and going out for a drink
Where: Some bar in the town probably
Warnings: Shameless flirting from Reno's part? Nah, don't know yet, we'll see.

He was early. It wasn't even 8pm yet and he was already standing outside the entrance to Ramuh tower and waiting for this Caesar guy who he didn't recall meeting in real life yet. Weren't the journals a brilliant invention? Made meeting other students so easy. Reno was wondering if he was breaking the habit of being late. This was the second "date" he had been early for. Then again it was probably just the studying causing it. He woudl rather be doing anything than staring at school books or thinking about how there was no way to avoid failing. He shook his head to shake away his thoughts. This wasn't a time to think about school, this was his night out.

He was laying his back against the cold stone wall of the tower, looking up at the darknening sky. The stars were coming out, it looked pretty through the mist that his breathing created in the cold winter air. Reno had never been one to appreciate the beauty of nature or things like that, but even he had to admit the sight was somehow soothing. If only it hadn't been so goddamn cold. He rubbed his gloved hands together and wished Caesar would show up before he'd freeze to death.

"I'm all for that," Caesar said enthusiastically. He let Reno lead the way, shuffling along quietly for a while. He did like the snow and smiled a little traipsing through it. Of course, if Hugo were here he'd hate the cold even more. He grinned at that.

"... So, Reno...," he began. "What kind of place are you from?"
30th-Sep-2006 01:41 pm (UTC)
Reno stuffed his hands into his pocket to keep them warm and strolled towards the gate. Walking in the snow was annoying, he decided. It didn't bother him too much, but still. It was annoying.

"Huh?" he turned to look at the younger boy over his shoulder, a smile spreading over his lips "What kinda place, hm? Normal," he stated turning his eyes back to where they were heading and shrugged laughing a little. He never knew what to answer to that question. "Midgar's a nice city, unless you live in the slums below the plate of course."
30th-Sep-2006 01:55 pm (UTC)
"Hmm..." Well, not much he could say to that. He couldn't relate to that at all, so best not to make a comment. "Normal," he repeated, chuckling a little. "That doesn't say much, does it? What's normal for me is griffons and dragonriders, Runes, war... and there are no chocobos where I'm from. So come on, tell me something about where you're from."
30th-Sep-2006 02:50 pm (UTC)
Reno slowed his pace so he was walking next to Caesar "Griffons, dragonrides and Runes? Where the hell are you from?" He shook his head alittle. The more people he met the weirder stories about foreign worlds he got to hear. It just reinforced his opinion that his own world was normal. But how to describe that to someone who had never been there?
"Well... We don't have those things. We have all normal stuff like humans, technology, mako energy, chocobos..." He shrugged. They were approaching the Lithium Portal and he motioned for Caesar to enter first.
30th-Sep-2006 03:09 pm (UTC)
He grinned, moving to enter the Lithium Portal. It always seemed that everyone else's world but his was weird, and they of course felt the same about his world. "Heh... I guess you would think my world very primative. The most technology I experienced before coming here was an elevator. Things like computers, televisions... even lamp posts," here he nodded up to the electric lanterns overhead. "We had nothing like that."

He shrugged in an "Oh, well, I'm here now" sort of way.
30th-Sep-2006 03:27 pm (UTC)
Reno followed the other redhead through the Lithium Portal, comtemplating what the boy had said. No technology at all? How was that even possible? Reno couldn't imagine life without computers and cellphones, let alone without lamp posts. Suddenly a thought crossed his mind and he just had to ask: "Do you have dinosaurs?"
30th-Sep-2006 04:17 pm (UTC)
Should've figured that question would come up. But he gave it some serious thought. There certainly had been some very strange creatures in the world: mermaids, giant turtles, and krakens just to name a few. "No," he answered decisively. "It's not like we're in the Stone Age or anything."

Yeah, enough talking about that. He didn't want to confuse his new friend any further. "So... ah, where are we going?" Yep, diversionary tactics were useful.
1st-Oct-2006 12:16 pm (UTC)
Well at least this boy knew what a dinosaur was, unlike Zidane. That had to be something already. There weren't even street lights and yet Caesar claimed it wasn't Stone Age. Reno found it difficult to believe but shrugged it off as the other changed subject.

"I know a nice little bar where we could go, unless you had something else in mind," he replied while walking forward.
1st-Oct-2006 04:40 pm (UTC)
"Eh... honestly?" Caesar rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "I don't go out much. So I wouldn't know what to suggest." Sheesh, that made it sound like he had no fun at all. "Not sayin' I don't go out," he added hastily. "It's just... all this studying! Doesn't leave me much time for other things."
2nd-Oct-2006 05:46 pm (UTC)
Reno chuckled amused by the boy's reaction. He did his best to hide his amusement though, in order to not offend his new friend.
"Yeah, I know how it goes. Haven't gone out in ages myself either," he comforted Caesar. It was true, he couldn't even remember when was the last time he was out having fun. Probably at the ball, and that had turned into something not so fun in the end.

"Guess I'll lead the way then," he grinned and started to walk towards the bar he had in mind. A cozy little place without too many people around. He wasn't in the mood for crowds tonight.
2nd-Oct-2006 06:14 pm (UTC)
Any place was fine with him, so he was glad to let Reno lead the way. Of course, the last time he'd been anywhere like a bar was when he lived in Budehuc. It was good the one Reno chose wasn't very crowded. Still, Caesar looked a little lost in this environment and looked to Reno for instructions. Yeah, he really needed to get out more.
6th-Oct-2006 07:23 am (UTC)
He laughed softly at the Caesar's lost expression and glanced around, looking for a nice empty table preferrably at some corner where they could be alone. After seeing one he motioned towards it "You go sit down already and get out of those extra clothes, I'll get us something to drink."

He watched the boy walk towards the table to make sure he needed no more instructions on his way there and then went to get two beers, grinning to himself.
6th-Oct-2006 11:44 am (UTC)
"Thanks," Caesar said a bit sheepishly. He moved to the table, gratefully shedding off his heavy clothes. He was now wearing his sleeveless shirt, probably why he'd bundled up so much in the first place. He stretched out, glancing over to where Reno was.

Looked like Reno was getting drinks for both of them. That was thoughtful. Caesar would have to pay him back for it.
9th-Oct-2006 10:23 am (UTC)
Turning back to the direction of their table with beer glasses in both of his hands Reno came to a halt and his grin melted into a surprised expression for a moment before returning to his lips even wider than before. Instead of the eskimo he had come in the bar with there was a quite hot young man sitting at his table not wearing too much at all anymore.

He wolf-whistled appreciatively and made his way back to the table, placing one of the glasses on the table in front of Caesar and shrugging off his jacket - leaving him wearing his white shirt - before sipping from his glass.

"Very glad we decided to come somewhere where it's warm," he grinned and winked.
9th-Oct-2006 11:54 am (UTC)
He blinked, turning at the sound of the whistle. Caesar turned light red and grinned sheepishly. He was here to have fun so might as well enjoy the compilment. Watching Reno, he admitted that the other redhead looked pretty good.

"I'm glad too," Caesar said, reaching for his drink. "Though I think for a different reason." He grinned teasingly and took a sip. It tasted a little strange, but oh well. "Oh, thanks for the drink," he said. "I'll pay you back."
9th-Oct-2006 05:16 pm (UTC)
It had been a long time since Reno was out like this. And a long time since he had flirted with someone like this, it felt weird but he was definitely glad he was there.

The light blush on Caesar's cheeks and the teasing smirk made the boy irresistibly cute. He decided he had to get a kiss from those lips before the night would be over.

"No no, it's on me," he shook his head firmy. "If we drink another round you can pay for that."
9th-Oct-2006 06:14 pm (UTC)
"All right, if you insist," he shrugged. He leaned back to get comfortable in his seat. "I'll pay for next round." He felt very relaxed now, and the more he drank the more at ease he felt. Although at the same time he felt a little dizzy.

"This is a nice place," he commented, glancing around approvingly. "We had a place like this at Budehuc, only we had music and sometimes little plays. I had to be in one of the plays, and they booed at me." He finished that thought with another drink.
10th-Oct-2006 06:04 pm (UTC)
Reno leaned back on his seat too, sprawled comfortably on it and keeping his eyes fixed on Caesar. He cradled the beer class in his hands, taking a long sip ever now and then, it was nice and relaxing to feel the alcohol slowly spreading through his system.

"Thought you might like it, that's why I chose it," he smiled and kept himself from asking what kinda name for a town was Budenhuc. He rose an eyebrow at the following sentence. "You're an actor? Bah, that audience must've been full of morons, no one should boo at such a cutie."
10th-Oct-2006 06:41 pm (UTC)
He smiled vey casually over at the other redhead. Caesar had to hold the drink in both hands to guide it better to his mouth. He laughed a little and carefully set down the drink on the table.

"People keep calling me cute," he said in embarrassment, though he looked pleased all the same. "I never thought of it that way but I guess I must be if so many people think so." He stretched out his arms to rest them behind his head. "An' I'm not an actor," he went on. "I only did that for fun. Of course... they might've booed me that time 'cause the set fell over." He smiled and went back to his drink. Already the beverage was half-gone.
16th-Oct-2006 01:47 pm (UTC)
Reno sipped down his drink pretty fast, seeing that was what his 'date' was doing too, and his grin grew wider with the nice buzz the beer was slowly giving him. He couldn't think of a better way to spend a night.

He shook his head laughing softly "Whatevah the reason, no one should boo when someone like you is up on the stage. Y'know, I'd have been too busy staring at you to even notice the set falling over"
16th-Oct-2006 04:12 pm (UTC)
"Hmm," Caesar said, leaning over the table to study Reno thoughtfully. He still looked embarrassed by the barrage of compliments, but he didn't blush nearly as much as he would've with a clear mind. "Thanks... I wouldn't mind being stared at in that way." He paused to get his drink. "Would you mind me staring at you like that?" he wondered.
16th-Oct-2006 04:57 pm (UTC)
Reno took a long sip from his glass before setting it aside and leaning closer to Caesar over the table. A slow smirk spread across his lips "Good, 'coz I'm not planning to stop staring at you in a while..." he paused to reach out his hand and brush a loose strand of red hair off Caesar's face "Stare all ya want, I'm all yours."
16th-Oct-2006 05:08 pm (UTC)
For some reason, he found Reno fixing his hair to be extremely amusing. Probably because Caesar never had any luck taming the wild red locks. He grinned at Reno, raising his glass between them and taking a generous drink. The added buzz made hin think how nice it would be not to have the bulky table in the way.

"I wouldn' know what to do wif you," Caesar responded. "Don't have much experience bein' the one ravishing guys." Naturally he wouldn't have said that without the encouragement of alcohol, but as it was he just grinned.
16th-Oct-2006 05:27 pm (UTC)
That comment stunned Reno, but only momentarily. Straight to the point, huh? He never would've guessed from the boy. Not a bad turn of events at all. "More used to being the one ravished, then?" He turned to pick up his beer glass to empty it with one long swig. The table between them was becoming a nuisance indeed.

He laid back grinning slowly, eyes fixed on Caesar's. "Why don't cha get on this side of the table and I'll see what I could do with you," he winked.
17th-Oct-2006 06:48 pm (UTC)
"Well," Caesar answered, grinning, "yeah, pretty much." He fell into giggles, stopping to finish off his glass. This stuff was really nice, and made him think Reno's suggestion was a good one. "Okay! I will!" he decided.

The moment he stood up he felt dizzier than ever. He took a few uneasy steps before toppling. Luckily, he landed on Reno.
17th-Oct-2006 07:19 pm (UTC)
Reno laughed catching the falling redhead into his arms and smirking at the boy. "That eager to get on me? And here I thought I was the one who's gonna ravish you"

The boy had no head for alcohol it seemed, but Reno didn't really mind. He was dizzy enough to not to worry what the other's reaction would be in the morning.
17th-Oct-2006 07:40 pm (UTC)
He laughed in embarrassment, though Reno didn't seem to mind at all. "Guess I got excited," he concluded with a chuckle. "But as long as I'm here... might as well take advantage of it, right?" The alcohol pushed him on and he pounced first. But his aim wasn't that good and he kissed Reno's nose instead. Caesar just laughed as he realized his error.

"See? I'm no good at this!"
17th-Oct-2006 07:49 pm (UTC)
Well the boy's aim was a little off but he got the right attitude, Reno decided, laughing. "It's a good start, ya just need a little more practise," he stated, placing one hand behind Caesar's neck to pull the boy closer and brush their lips together. "See this is how it's done." He didn't give the other a chance to reply anything before their lips were pressed together again.
18th-Oct-2006 12:15 pm (UTC)
Not that he would've done much other than laugh, anyway. The kiss surprised him but felt nice all the same. It seemed such a long time since he was last kissed. He kissed back just to enjoy the feeling again.
18th-Oct-2006 12:31 pm (UTC)
Reno grinned against Caesar's lips and brushed some of those impossible red strands off of his face only have them fall on the way again. "Quite a nice change to sitting alone in the dorm and studying, I'd say," he purred.
18th-Oct-2006 12:38 pm (UTC)
"Yeah, much better," Caesar agreed. He laughed a little as Reno tried to fix his hair. He reached over to play with Reno's hair. "It just grows that way," he said. "Makes it fun to play with."
18th-Oct-2006 12:44 pm (UTC)
Reno gave a lazy smile to the boy, stroking back his hair just to see it fall back on its place again. He enjoyed the other's touch on his hair, he had always had a thing for someone playing with it.
"Mm, it's lovely theway it is," he admitted.
18th-Oct-2006 04:25 pm (UTC)
"You're nice to say that," Caesar murmured, shifting to rest against the other redhead. His fingers curled through the strands of Reno's ponytail. He still felt incredibly dizzy but using Reno as a support helped a great deal.

"What else do you do in these places, other than drink and ravish me?" he asked, smiling teasingly.
18th-Oct-2006 04:57 pm (UTC)
"Just stating the facts," Reno purred, his eyes half-lidding while he enjoyed the fingers touching his hair.

"Why in such a hurry to do something else when I haven't even gotten to the ravishing part properly?" he replied with a question, flashing a teasing smirk.
18th-Oct-2006 07:01 pm (UTC)
"Oh... you weren't finished yet?" Caesar countered, giggling mischievously. "Don't let me distract you!" This was actually really fun... He was very glad now he decided to skip studying.
18th-Oct-2006 07:39 pm (UTC)
"Finished?" Reno chuckled, running his hands down Caesar's sides slowly caressing his skin through the fabric. He leaned in to whisper in Caesar's ear "I haven't even started yet," he added with a teasing nibble at the boy's earlobe. "You're not telling me you've never been proberly ravished before, are you?"
19th-Oct-2006 12:15 pm (UTC)
He giggled a little, though he was also blushing at the touches. He could barely think properly as it was and now with this distraction it took a while to formulate a response. "Donno," Caesar said, letting his fingers weave through Reno's ponytail thoughtfully. "Not sure what all ravishing means."
